We see a future shaped by advances in intelligent systems. Our long-term ambition is to contribute original artificial intelligence technology to that future, and to explore new possibilities in computing along the way.
Direction
Where we are heading.
Most companies that use artificial intelligence do so through models built by someone else. We intend, over time, to build the capability to develop our own: the expertise, the data practices and the infrastructure required to design, train, evaluate and operate original general-purpose models.
This is a direction, not a claim. We have not trained a foundation model, we do not operate a research laboratory, and we are not announcing a research team. What we are doing is making decisions today, about the people we hire and the systems we build, with that direction in view.

Decisions about hiring and systems made with the direction in view. Intelligent capabilities added to Gistmo only where they genuinely help.
- Next: capability
Data practices, evaluation and the infrastructure to train and serve models of our own, built up deliberately.
- Later: dedicated divisions
If the work matures, research and AI divisions within the company. Until then we will describe it as a programme.

We are based in Nigeria, and we do not intend to limit what we build to any one region. The systems we aim to create should be useful to people anywhere.
